Coaching Methods

I believe that becoming a runner is a a lifestyle shift to be celebrated. From your legs to your mind, running employs every facet of your being. In coaching, I utilize a variety of tools to get you moving toward your goal, no matter how big or small.

These may include:

  • Warm-ups and cool-downs for injury prevention

  • Nutrition

  • Strength work

  • Cross-training

  • Speed & stamina workouts

  • Positive psychology and development of a growth mindset, including mantras and other methods to increase 'mental fitness'

  • Routines & habit-building practices

  • Development of a supportive community to share your experiences

My personal motto is "progress, not perfection." I've seen people set high goals with black-or-white, all-or-nothing thinking, setting them up for viewing anything short of perfection as failure. My intention is to create a non-intimidating environment in which you can ask questions and share your good days and bad days. Each small, attainable step will amount to a giant leap in your personal journey. My role will be as your guide, but also a supporter to offer feedback from my own personal experiences as well as construct solutions together.
